A disgruntled Jeremy Corbett, who has not been paid by TV3 since its parent company MediaWorks went into receivership last month, is growing increasingly angry at his employers, and is set to host a new version of the channel’s Deal or No Deal series, titled Deal or I’ll Activate the Doomsday Device.

In Deal or I’ll Activate the Doomsday Device, Corbett reprises his role as host of Deal or No Deal, but instead of the original format where contestants choose from a series of suitcases containing various denominations of money, Corbett will instead give those contestants a suitcase containing a bomb, and ask them to negotiate a payment deal with MediaWorks management.

If the contestant cannot secure enough money to pay Corbett’s bills, the bomb will go off and he will activate what he calls “the doomsday device.”

The doomsday device is understood to be Corbett’s lawnmower.

MediaWorks chief executive Paul Maher said he was “saddened” that Corbett felt the need to take this action, but that TV3 would “gladly” televise it for sake of “Jeremy’s freedom of expression.”

Corbett has promised that the killing that will take place on Deal won’t end until he finally gets paid, and has also renamed his popular comedy show 7 Days to 7 Days Until I Kill Paul Ego with This Mallet.

Corbett will also host a series of brand new shows, including Destroyed in Seconds, a reformat of Destroyed in Seconds in which a drunk, screaming and crying Corbett smashes a model replica of TV3 headquarters with a golf club, and Home Goes Away, in which houses belonging to Paul Maher and other MediaWorks executives are set on fire.
