In an apparent effort to distract from the spying-related scandals currently plaguing the National Government, Finance Minister Bill English has begun drafting a bill about English.
The bill is billed to be billed as “Bill English’s English Bill”.
English called a press conference to announce the proposed legislation this afternoon, which he had hinted would feature “important policy announcements.”
The drafting of the bill was the only announcement made at the conference.
When asked what the bill would contain, English responded that he “wasn’t sure yet,” but “it’s a pretty clever name, isn’t it?”
Political commentators have agreed that it is “pretty clever.”
