All Black Israel Dagg has this afternoon ordered several thousand Palestinian refugees out of his Christchurch home, amid concerns that the situation in his kitchen was beginning to get “ridiculous.”
Explaining his decision to media, Dagg said that he was “initially comfortable” with the idea of sharing his house with the refugees, but they had become “uncooperative” and he had been forced to expand into some of their living space.
These measures had only made them more unruly, however, and Dagg finally felt forced to expel them today, saying the entire situation was beginning to play out “like a poorly written joke.”
After being pressed on the subject, Dagg acknowledged that the home did originally belong to the Palestinians, but that he had grown up there, and felt it was “only right” that he be allowed to return to it.
